Some of us who possess a basic curious mind wonder about the climate change we notice all around. Generally, we let them go and get on with other things in our lives. But when an unusual event occurs, like Hurricane Harvey, which no one has connected to Climate Change, suddenly we notice the weather once again. With that devastating storm in mind I present this old article once again.
Per its recent norm the United States, headed by Donald Trump, has taken its Climate Change Denial as a solo act. In face of all the other major countries in the world, in face of all the major scientists, the United States and its head tweeter continues to deny any disruption of weather as having a cause or reason. With such overwhelming pressure from all its allies the Donald is debating the position from hisTwitter account. Once the leader of the free world we know site our position from the rear ala the Tweets. One wonders how much good the United States can do once it comes to its senses.
“The U.S. will be the lone holdout on endorsing the Paris accord on climate change when leaders of the G7 will issue their 2017 declaration Saturday, officials said.
President Donald Trump had said he would give European leaders a chance to make their case for the climate change accord, but would not make a final decision until returning to Washington on whether his administration will remain committed to the 2015 agreement.
Trump tweeted Saturday morning: “I will make my final decision on the Paris Accord next week!”
Trump’s refusal to take a position while in Sicily has shaken the unity among the G7, the world’s most exclusive geopolitical club.
The U.S. has also raised doubts about the G7’s longstanding language opposing protectionism in all forms. The Trump administration blocked similar language in a G20 communique earlier this year.
The other six members – Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the UK — will reiterate their support for the Paris agreement in the declaration, officials said.” http://www.politico.com/story/2017/05/27/trump-paris-climate-deal-238883
