Congress does a particularly piss poor job of living up to its constitutional responsibilities especially that of protecting the people.

When total strangers gun down other total strangers, attributing their bad behavior to an organization that has found so little joy in life that they are ready to deprive others of such joy, when rage and ill-feeling and personal problem becomes so great that for some the response is only of destruction, Congress, hidden behind their guarded walls, eating in their private clubs, kept separate from the vast majority of the electorate, has failed to live up to their responsibility of promoting the general Welfare by ignoring these horrific random attacks on the populace. And of course they have failed in their responsibility of protecting the people.
The dunderheads in the establishment media (all of them) wonder about the anger of the populace toward their elected officials. When those elected officials use their position only for gain and little in defense of the people, disdain for their incompetent job performance is the only rational approach. And contrary to the Washington media’s elitism, the general populace, en masse, is extremely articulate about their needs and wants.

Bernie supporters, Trump supporters, and those that have dropped out of supporting anyone in official power, make up the majority of the people. To ignore the majority in the future is done at the officials elected welfare.
